The Philippines has one of the most generous and simple visa systems in Asia.
Visa options and requirements
- 30 days visa-free on arrival for most Western passports.
- Tourist visa extensions available at Bureau of Immigration — extendable up to 36 months total.
- Each extension: 2 months at a time, approximately $50 per extension.
- SRRV (Special Resident Retiree Visa): available from age 35 with $10,000–$20,000 deposit.
- No income requirement for tourist extensions — simply renewable every 2 months.
- The Philippines does not tax foreign-sourced income.
