Overview — Pattaya

Pattaya is 2 hours from Bangkok by bus or car. It is a beach city with a specific, well-known reputation that NomadBold addresses directly and honestly. It has excellent infrastructure, beautiful surrounding beaches (Koh Larn, Jomtien), a large expat retirement community, and a social scene unlike any other city in the world. Men come here knowing exactly what it is.

What you need to know
  • Jomtien — quieter, residential, beach-focused. Better for longer stays.
  • Central Pattaya — the action. Walking Street is the epicenter.
  • Pratumnak Hill — upscale, quiet, the best residential area in Pattaya.
  • Naklua — northern area, local Thai community, authentic.
  • Koh Larn island — 30-minute ferry. Beautiful beaches. Day trip essential.
  • Golf: Pattaya has some of Asia's best golf courses. Popular with long-stay expats.
  • Baht buses (songthaews) serve the entire city for 10 THB (~$0.30) per ride.
Best neighborhoods
