Vietnam updated its e-visa system in 2023, making it significantly more accessible.
Visa options and requirements
- 45-day e-visa for most nationalities. Single and multiple entry available.
- Visa-free for select EU passports (15–90 days depending on country).
- E-visa application: $25 online, approved within 3 business days.
- No digital nomad visa yet — men typically chain e-visas or exit/re-enter.
- Exit and re-enter resets the 45-day clock. Cambodia (3-hour bus) or flight to Bangkok.
- Vietnam does not tax foreign-sourced income for non-residents.
